We all have our ups and downs in life....Today, Kiss and Cookie did too! Grandma, Grandpa, Big-Cousin R, and PapaBear took them for a 5 minute Terror Ride on the Carousel. I must admit, neither were please by the experience.
Perhaps it was the loud, high-pitched carousel music? Perhaps it was the caravan of hard-shelled uncomfortable animals? Perhaps it was from going around in nauseating circles for the first time in their lives? No. It was probably just because MamaFox wasn't there...!
Kiss started to settle into it and we did manage to get some photos...

At least Grandma looks like she's having some fun!

This is the closest we managed to get Cookie onto a propper zoo animal...poor Cookie!

Once the Carousel ride ended (yeah!), the fun began! The day was hot, so we stopped for a cold-one. Drink drink drink!

We started cruising around the zoo and the kids loved the different animals!
They saw polychromic bears!

They saw lions (and the lions saw them)!

An Emu even came arouund to see the Wonder Twins!

There was a big 'ol Bison grazing on the house...

But best of all, they saw a giraffe (one of their favorite animals right now)...mine too!

A Native from these-here-parts, Big Cousin R served as a guide and, when needed, interpreter to the animals. I've had some recent exposure to the Basenji, however, my Basenji is still terrible! (it's the dialect of the silence). As such, Big Cousin R did a great job as our interpreter and she got us out of the zoo on time!!

Tired, but excited Kiss and Cookie had a great time (and so did we!).

I hate carousels too.
I'm sure they'd like Disneyland better! (Speaking of which, when are you coming out to CA?)
